By using four very different sensing-technologies simultaneously such as Ion Mobility Spectrometry (IMS), a Photo Ionization Detector (PID), two semiconductor gas sensors and an electrochemical cell, the GDA2 can detect and identify with a much broader coverage on volatile toxic industrial compounds ((ETW, AEGL, ERPG, ITF-25 list, etc.) and chemical warfare agents (Nerve, Blister, Blood and Choking). Furthermore the GDA2 is able to detect some Explosives. The released gases and CWA’s can be detected within seconds with detection limits from ppb (1:109) to high ppm concentration.
The first target of the GDA2 is safety: The user is warned when compounds are present – even if compounds may not be contained in the library that is currently chosen for operation.
The GDA2 holds up to 3 different libraries – each can be customized and comprises a dedicated set of up to 256 hazardous compounds.
