Ecosystem respiration, and the respiration of soils and water bodies receives increasing attention worldwide. Targeting novices, this last in a series of five introductory videos, shows in easy steps how to start. Supervision and advice by experienced personnel is highly recommended at the start.
We start with 1) data organization and simple analysis – and guide you step-by-step from the data transfer from a logger into the import into something like Excel(c), and preparation of a data sheet too work with. We explain 2) why to cut away the first minute of data collected, 3) show you typical data (screen shot) for flux calculation and 4) lead your through that calculation. As of 5) we show you how to present your data in tables, graphs, figures, ready to be published – and make you aware of some obstacles.
At the end, information is given on the four other videos.
