The new Low Cost FGD10 series of explosion proof gas detectors from Status Scientific (UK) is now available for the detection of flammable gases and carbon dioxide using miniature infrared sensors.
Depending upon the flammable gas to be measured, detectors with the ranges of 0-100% LEL and 0-100% Volume are available.
The infrared sensors used are advantageous over standard pellistors because they are fail safe, have a longer life expectancy (+5 years) and are temperature compensated. There are a variety of sensors that can measure between 0-500ppm and 0-100% Volume for carbon dioxide.
Also available are detectors for oxygen and various toxic gases.
Depending upon the application, there are 2 variants in the series; The
FGD10A has a display and can be calibrated using magnetically operated switches. The FGD10B has no display and calibration of this unit is via internal zero and span buttons.
Both detectors have ATEX and IECEx certification, 4-20mA output and plug in replaceable sensors. The detectors have been tested to and passed EMC standards and the infrared sensors have temperature compensation from -20C- +50ºC. For further information regarding
