Principle
- HABS-2000 can measure Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) by using MFC. The MFC that is applied in HABS-2000 uses organisms or a part of them to convert the reducing power that is generated by organisms’ energy metabolism into electrical energy. Because the amount of electrical signal that is generated from MFC increases in proportion to the concentration of organic matter contained in the measuring sample, the equipment converts this to BOD concentration for measurement.
